Joy is dedicated to merging her passion for Yoga, Art and Vida together into a transformative wellness destination. With over two decades of experience in yoga and 35 years as a public-school teacher, she has developed a unique approach to teaching that emphasizes purpose, connection, and personal growth. Since earning her 200 RYT certification in 2015, Joy has been sharing her passion with the community, teaching alongside her husband, John, in a dropout prevention program in Mayport Village.
Deeply rooted in the belief that gratitude, love, and community are essential to a fulfilling life, Joy incorporates these principles into every role she plays—whether as a mother, wife, sister, friend, or educator. Her teaching philosophy revolves around helping others discover their strengths, set meaningful goals, and create a path toward continual growth. She is committed to providing her students with opportunities to explore their passions, strengthen their bodies, and foster deep, authentic connections. Joy believes that everyone has innate gifts that should be shared with their community and that is the driving force flowing through the Consider It studio.
Growing up in the Florida Keys, Joy developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, adventure, and the importance of an active lifestyle. She loves traveling and hiking with her husband and their sons, Mason and Henry. Her life goal of visiting every National Park aligns with her vision for Consider It—a studio that welcomes all, promoting mindfulness, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging for every individual who walks through its doors.
